During the spring of 2007, Linda was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.  The doctors told her their best guess was that she had 6 months.  From the moment she was given her diagnoses her choice was to stay positive and fight.  She chose to go with an aggressive plan that had shown some promising results.  For months the treatment looked to be working.  She surpassed the 6 month timeline she was given and looked to be on the way to winning her battle.  11 months into treatment, Linda had an appointment in which she hoped she was going to be told her cancer was in remission.  Unfortunately, that was not the news that Linda received.  The cancer had started to spread and the treatment was no longer working.  Ultimately, Linda's battle with Pancreatic Cancer lasted 18 months and ended in February, 2009.

Linda was a loving friend, mom, wife, and cornerstone to the family.  While she never got the change to meet her grandchildren, little pieces of her shine bright through them.  She was survived by her mother, Julia, her husband of 25 years, Dave Kovanda, their children Chris, Cory, and Kimberly, and her brothers (Scott & Duke) and Sister Chrissy.

Linda lived her life to the fullest.  She was loyal, compassionate and fierce.  She fought for those she loved just as hard as she fought for her life.  While her time with us was cut short, the impact Linda made  on those she left behind will last forever.
